Freshman Students’ Motivated Behavior Indicators in EAP Courses

Attendance, L2 motivation, and language learning achievement indicators were pursued in a EAP course at Civil Engineering Department for freshman students . Quantitative methodology via motivated behavior scale, first midterm grades attendance was employed. The survey instrument translated into Turkish, both translation back procedures conducted to ensure the content validity of instruments. study state university North Turkey, with 45 participants. These participants 1st year between ages 18 22. All -at time data collection- A1 level students, as measured according descriptors proposed Common European Framework Reference Languages (Council Europe, 2001). quantitative analyzed through SPSS Statistics. Parametric tests employed showed normal distribution. Both descriptive statistics inferential analysis including Independent Samples T-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation applied conclusions drawn. results demonstrated that learners educational context had medium motivation.
